Alexis M. Wimberly is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia, where she received her B.F.A. in 2007.
Following graduation, she worked for a prestigious commercial architecture and design firm in Atlanta until 2010, when she decided to pursue her passion for law and a desire to serve the community. With these goals in mind, Alexis chose Charleston School of Law where she was the recipient of a merit scholarship, receiving her Juris Doctor degree in 2013.
At Charleston School of Law, Alexis was Articles Editor for Resolved: Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution and a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. She was also an active member of the Student Bar Association, serving as a Student Ambassador and elected Senator of her 2L and 3L class. Her memberships included the Student Division of the Charleston Country Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Student Trial Lawyers Association.
Alexis competed nationally with the Trial Advocacy Board, advancing to the semi-finals in both the Carolinas Mock Trial Competition and the Florida State University Mock Trial Competition. Alexis enjoys returning to Charleston Law to coach the current Trial Advocacy Board and their traveling teams.
Alexis’ practice areas include a variety of general and complex civil litigation including personal injury, wrongful death, commercial litigation, construction litigation, corporate disputes, will contests and probate litigation. Her practice also includes criminal defense for municipal and state level offenses as well as D.U.I. and other traffic related offenses. Since joining the firm in mid-2014 she has already participated in several trials to verdict.
Alexis is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division. Alexis is licensed to practice in all South Carolina courts.
